It’s January 6… and it’s 70 degrees out. I know today was supposed to be an “off” day according to C25K, but I had to go outside. It’s just too nice out today.
So I strapped on the MP3 player and the Garmin and headed out. I did two “big laps” around the development, rather than my usual route consisting of smaller loops. I covered 3.88 miles in 45:16 (11:40 avg. pace). My first lap was 1.94 miles at a 11:26 pace, and the second lap was at a 11:55 pace. My average running pace was 8-9 minutes/mile, with a maximum speed of 8.0 MPH.
More importantly, my 5K time was 35:50. For reference, that would place me at 99 out of 112 in last year’s Double Creek 5K (pdf).
