I had seen Road ID tags advertised in Runner’s World before, and had thought about getting one. After all, when I run I never carry any form of identification and very rarely a cell phone. If I were to end up injured/unconscious like so many of the testimonials, I’m not sure how anyone would ever be able to figure out who I was or how to contact my wife.
Then I read Bill’s post about getting a Wrist ID, along with a sweet coupon code for $2 off. So I finally placed and order.

I put it on my shoes right before my 10K run on Monday. Seemed to fit perfectly on my laces and I didn’t even notice it was there while out on the road. Definitely a recommended product.

ummmmm…. who is gonna see that tiny ass tag? it looks like it part of the shoe, no one would find it.
Heh. Not a bad point! It does sort of blend in with my shoe. :)
Supposedly EMTs are trained to look for ID on unconscious/incapacitated people, so I guess you are just supposed to rely on that and hope for the best. And I would say that having some form of ID on me, no matter how small, is better than no ID at all.
Well, still it’s better than nothing. If you end up in a hospital they’ll eventually take your shoes off so there’s a big chance somebody will see it…
I’m a runner and I’ve been looking for something like this too. I keep loosing my shoes when I take them off after a long run. This will certainly come in handy in recovering my footwear.
i just ordered one for when i go biking only the one i got is a wrist band and pink…that way i’m sure someone will see it :) but definately SOMEONE is going to see it on your shoe…like you said theyre trained
And even if they do find that tiny little tag, if the all the info is blurred out how can they read it. Are they supposed to google your name?
