Django 1.0 release delayed

Until recently, the Django Project website said that we could expect a 1.0 release in February or March 2006. That date has now been quietly pushed back:

When will you release Django 1.0?
Short answer: When we’re comfortable with Django’s APIs, have added all features that we feel are necessary to earn a “1.0″ status, and are ready to begin maintaining backwards compatibility. This should happen in a couple of months or so, although it’s entirely possible that it could happen earlier. That translates into summer 2006.

It sounds like the APIs are fairly fixed at this point (but not entirely frozen according to the IRC chatter). In the meantime, the Version 1.0 feature list is probably the best way to predict when the release is coming.
